Day 1 — Walvis Bay

  • Departure from Walvis Bay Station, Namibia
  • The train traverses the Namib Desert on its way to Otjiwarongo
  • Overnight on board the train

The journey begins with a departure from Walvis Bay Station. The train traverses the boundless expanses of the Namib Desert on its way to Otjiwarongo. The night is spent in the gentle rhythm of motion, on board the train.

Day 2 — Otjiwarongo – Tsumeb

  • Transfer (approx. 60 minutes) to the Cheetah Conservation Project in Otjiwarongo for an educational tour
  • The train continues its journey toward Tsumeb
  • Overnight on board the train

Upon arrival in Otjiwarongo, a one-hour transfer takes you to the Cheetah Conservation Fund—a place where nature conservation becomes a mission. As evening falls, the train sets a course for Tsumeb, with a night spent in the comfort of your carriage.

Day 3 — Etosha National Park

  • Transfer (approx. 60 minutes) to a luxury lodge in Etosha National Park for an overnight stay
  • Afternoon game drive in the park (approx. 3 hours)
  • Overnight at the lodge

Following a one-hour transfer, you arrive at a lodge nestled within Etosha National Park. An afternoon game drive of approximately three hours awaits, offering wildlife sightings across the vast salt pans and savannas. The night is spent at the lodge, surrounded by the profound silence of the African wilderness.

Day 4 — Etosha National Park

  • Safari in Etosha National Park
  • Return to the lodge
  • Transfer (approx. 60 minutes) to the train at Tsumeb Station
  • The train proceeds toward Kranzberg
  • Overnight on board the train

The morning begins with a safari across the vast expanses of Etosha National Park, where the drama of the wild unfolds before your eyes. Return to the lodge for a brief rest, followed by a transfer to the train at Tsumeb Station. The train slowly carries you toward Kranzberg, with the night spent in the gentle rhythm of the rails.

Day 5 — Sossusvlei

  • Transfer to the airstrip
  • Light aircraft flight (approx. 1 hour) to the lodge in Sossusvlei
  • Overnight at the lodge

Following a transfer to the airstrip, an aerial journey over the Namib Desert begins. A one-hour light aircraft flight transfers you to a lodge in Sossusvlei, where the night is spent in seclusion and comfort amidst the majestic dunes.

Day 6 — Windhoek – Mariental

  • Departure from the lodge and transfer to the airstrip
  • Flight (1 hour) from Sossusvlei to Windhoek
  • Windhoek city tour
  • The train heads south through the Kalahari Desert on its way to Mariental
  • Overnight on board the train

Following departure from the lodge, a transfer to the airstrip and a one-hour flight from Sossusvlei to Windhoek, where a sightseeing tour of Namibia’s capital awaits. The train then continues its southward journey, crossing the vast Kalahari Desert toward Mariental. Overnight on board the train.

Day 7 — Keetmanshoop and Garas Park 

  • Visit to Keetmanshoop and Garas Park
  • Overnight on board the train

The day is dedicated to visiting Keetmanshoop and Garas Park, revealing the region’s stunning landscapes and diverse flora. In the evening, the train continues its journey, with the night spent on board.

Day 8 — Luderitz – Holoog

  • Transfer (approx. 60 minutes) to the ghost town of Kolmanskop for a guided tour
  • A visit to the historic town of Lüderitz
  • Departure for Holoog
  • Overnight on board the train

Following a one-hour transfer, you visit the famous ghost town of Kolmanskop, immersing yourself in the atmosphere of abandoned streets and encroaching sand dunes. The route then leads to the colorful town of Lüderitz, followed by the train’s departure toward Holoog. The night is spent on board in the comfort of your carriage.

Day 9 — Upington

  • Transfer (approx. 60 minutes) to Fish River Canyon
  • Border crossing into South Africa
  • The train continues its journey toward Upington
  • Overnight on board the train

A one-hour transfer leads you to the Fish River Canyon — a place of majesty and silence. After crossing the border into South Africa, the train slowly sets a course toward Upington. The night is spent to the rhythm of the wheels and distant African sounds.

Day 10 — De Aar

  • A stroll through the town of Upington with a scenic cruise on the Orange River
  • A journey through the Karoo—a vast semi-desert region that was once an enormous inland sea—on the way to De Aar
  • Overnight on board the train

The day begins with a walking tour of Upington and a cruise along the Orange River, offering picturesque views. Afterward, the train traverses the vast semi-desert region of the Karoo — once South Africa’s inland sea — as it heads toward De Aar. Overnight on board in the comfort of your carriage.

Day 11 — Matjiesfontein

  • Time permitting, guests may disembark at Whitehill Station and enjoy a 5km walk to the historic village of Matjiesfontein
  • The train traverses the scenic Hex River Valley
  • Overnight on board the train

Time permitting, travelers can disembark at Whitehill Station for a scenic 5-kilometer walk to Matjiesfontein—a village where time seems to stand still. Afterward, the train leisurely traverses the Hex River Valley, as the night unfolds to the rhythmic click of the rails beneath the stars of the southern sky.

Day 12 — Cape Town

  • Journey through the winelands of the Western Cape
  • Arrival at the final destination of the journey — Cape Town Station

The journey continues through the picturesque winelands of the Western Cape, where emerald vineyards give way to rolling hills and valleys. The adventure concludes with the arrival at Cape Town Station — a city poised at the meeting point of ocean and mountains.
